Ms. Elena Seryapina graduated with the equivalent of a Juris Doctorate from South Ural State University (Chelyabinsk) in her home country of Russia, focusing much of her studies on Civil Law and Commercial Law. While working on her JD degree Ms. Seryapina also studied International Law and ADR at University of North Dakota (Grand Forks, ND, USA). In 2012 Ms. Seryapina obtained LL.M. degree in dispute resolution as a Fulbright Scholar from Pepperdine University School of Law Straus Institute for Dispute Resolutions (Malibu, CA, USA). While studying at Pepperdine University School of Law she interned at one of the largest conflict resolution firms in America - JAMS (Santa Monica, CA, USA) and served as a volunteer mediator at Los Angeles County Courts.
Now Ms. Seryapina works as a corporate legal counsel for an international energy production corporation focusing on M&A, Energy Law and International Commercial Arbitration. Ms. Seryapina also plans to develop a corporate conflict resolution program where she wants to implement best practices of conflict management learnt from her experience in the USA. In future Ms. Seryapina wants to launch a private mediation practice and to teach a course on Dispute Resolution at her Alma Mater - South Ural State University in her home country.
