Our Spanish face, Laura Lozano has contributed two articles to the Association for International Arbitration (AIA) In Touch March issue including a review of cross-examination practice in international arbitration and a fascinating review of the Bankia dispute which highlights the issues surrounding the recent use of preferred stock by Spanish financial institutions.

Our U.S. face, M. Nycole Hearon, reports that effective March 1, 2013, Texas new rule 169, inter alia, prohibits judges from ordering parties to mediate cases with an amount in controversy less than $100,000.00.  

New steps at Straus Institute

Our U.S. face, M. Nycole Hearon, reports that her alma mater,the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, now offers a concentration in International Commercial Arbitration.  The new concentration will further enhance Straus's competitive position relative to other international LL.M. programs and increase its relevance to international practitioners.
